Gabriel Thornton, MD

 

Dr. Thornton was born and raised in Miami Florida. He completed medical school at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in 2013. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at Case Western Reserve University - Case Medical Center in 2016. In 2019, he completed a fellowship in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Thornton has worked as a pulmonologist and critical care physician in Augusta, GA since 2019. He has experience in managing patients with complex pulmonary disorders .  He worked in the Burn Intensive Care Unit at Doctors Hospital of Augusta, where he treated patients with severe burn injuries and complex wound and skin conditions. His clinical interests include asthma, COPD, lung cancer, pulmonary nodules, pulmonary hypertension, bronchiectasis, and interstitial lung disease. He also has years of experience working in longterm acute care hospitals and managing patients with chronic respiratory failure requiring longterm mechanical ventilation.

His hobbies include spending time with his family, watching basketball, playing Yu-Gi-Oh, and learning new things.
